Financial modeling what-if analysis is a type of sensitivity analysis performed in Excel to test how changes in assumptions impact certain outputs in a model. Under the Data Ribbon in Excel, there are three types of what-if analysis: Goal Seek, Data Table, and Scenario Manager. In financial modeling and valuation, Goal Seek and Data Tables are the most commonly used types of sensitivity analysis.
