Finance Fundamentals Challenge: Day 8

Time it’ll take to complete: 30 minutes

The ability to understand, analyze, and turn data into actionable insights is a powerful and broadly-applicable skill for many industries—and finance is no exception. Now that you’ve honed your skills in reading financial statements, let’s explore the word of business intelligence and how to analyze that information.

Your day 8 challenge is to read about what business intelligence is and how it helps finance professionals make informed business decisions, as well as an overview of the differences between business intelligence and data science.

Finance Fundamentals Challenge: Day 7

Time it’ll take to complete: 30 minutes

Literacy of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) has grown—and will only continue—to be an in-demand skill for finance professionals because of its increasing relevance in how businesses operate.

The challenge for day 7 familiarizes you with the ESG framework, gives a brief history of its evolution and why it’s so important now, its role in finance and investing, and what it means to be an ESG specialist. Debt Origination (Capital Markets) covers the process of raising debt for large borrowers while Fixed-Income Trading will help you understand the varying factors and mechanics of tradable debt.

The remainder of this free course’s lessons covers Dividends and Return of Capital, Roles in Corporate Finance (Conclusion), and the Qualified Assessment to round out your foundational understanding of careers in the industry and earn your Corporate Finance Fundamentals Certificate!
