CFI Endorsed by the Higher Learning Commission as a Short-Term Credential Provider

Corporate Finance Institute (CFI) is one of four organizations selected by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) for short-term credential provider endorsements.

The recognition places CFI among a small group of organizations selected for the inaugural cohort of HLC’s Endorsed Provider initiative amid a fast-growing marketplace for short-term credentials. HLC’s endorsement gives CFI independent validation from an established accrediting body and adds another layer of trust for learners and employers when evaluating providers.

The HLC is one of the most respected accrediting bodies in the United States, overseeing approximately 1,000 colleges and universities. Through its short-term credential provider endorsement, HLC recognizes educational organizations whose programs meet standards for quality and workforce relevance.

According to HLC, the endorsed providers initiative aims to increase pathways for learners to gain the qualifications they need to advance their careers. That objective aligns closely with CFI’s focus on practical, job-ready finance training and certifications for professionals, students, and teams.

“The HLC Short-term Credential Provider Endorsement is a milestone for CFI in our mission to make world-class finance education accessible to everyone,” said Tim Vipond, CFI CEO and Co-Founder. “This endorsement validates the rigor and quality our team brings to CFI’s practical certification programs that are designed for anyone to develop job-ready skills and build a career in finance.”

The endorsement arrives at a time when learners and employers are navigating a growing number of short-term credential options as demand grows for flexible, workforce-focused education. As more providers enter the market, questions around quality, credibility, and real-world relevance become more important. HLC’s independent endorsement distinguishes CFI as a learning provider with programs built around practical outcomes rather than participation alone.

CFI’s finance certification programs prepare learners for careers in investment banking, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), capital markets, and more career paths where employers increasingly expect learning to translate into job-ready performance. CFI learners focus on the same skills and techniques used by professionals across finance, from foundational Excel and accounting skills to financial modeling, valuation, and AI-driven analysis.

In a market filled with new credential options, HLC’s endorsement of CFI helps reinforce the value of trusted providers that connect learning to real workforce needs.
