CFI Learning Format

CFI training is fully online and self-paced. Learners can start at any time, pause and resume courses, and complete lectures, exercises, assessments, and exams around their schedules. There are no standard cohort dates, required live classes, or weekly deadlines. However, certification exams are timed once started, and occasional curriculum updates may introduce completion deadlines.

CFI offers two membership plans designed for different levels of learning support: Self-Study and Full-Immersion. Both plans provide access to CFI’s courses, certifications, and specializations, while Full-Immersion adds premium tools, resources, and expert support.

Learners can access CFI’s course library throughout their annual membership, while earned certificates remain valid for life. This flexibility helps students, working professionals, and career switchers fit training around other commitments.

Wall Street Mojo Learning Format

Wall Street Mojo’s courses and programs are fully online and primarily self-paced. Learners receive immediate access to prerecorded lessons, assessments, templates, and downloadable files, with no standard cohort dates, scheduled classes, or weekly deadlines.

Some programs include recommended learning sequences, webinars, or career workshops, but standard courses do not require live participation. Access generally ranges from one year for some courses and bundles to three years for larger programs and Elite Membership. This format gives students, working professionals, and career switchers flexibility, provided they can manage their own study schedules.

CFI Course Structure

CFI’s courses combine guided video instruction with hands-on practice. Courses are divided into 10- to 30-minute modules, with lessons typically lasting 2 to 5 minutes. Depending on the course type, each course includes 30 minutes to 8 hours of video instruction:

  • Practice labs: ~30 minutes
  • Standard (non-modeling) courses: ~1 to 3.5 hours
  • Technical model-building courses: ~6 to 8 hours

These estimates exclude time spent on Excel exercises, case studies, quizzes, and final assessments.

Learners receive a certificate of completion for each course, and most CFI courses also count toward a certification, such as Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA®) and Financial Planning & Analysis Professional (FPAP™).

Wall Street Mojo Course Structure

Wall Street Mojo courses generally follow a linear sequence of phases, modules, and video lessons. Technical courses provide downloadable Excel models or templates and often center on an extended model or case study. Many include chapter-level tests and a final assessment, although passing requirements and the number of permitted attempts vary.

Courses contain about 1 to more than 16 hours of video instruction. Most fall within the 1- to 8-hour range, while advanced technical courses often require 10 hours or more. Learners can take courses individually or through bundles such as the Investment Banking Mastery Program or Financial Analyst Fast Track Program. Learners receive a Wall Street Mojo certificate of completion for each qualifying course.

CFI Practical Learning

CFI uses exercises, models, templates, and case studies to build practical, job-ready finance skills:

  • Hands-on Excel Training: You construct professional worksheets, perform calculations and analyses, build financial models, and work with public company datasets.
  • Industry Standards: Programs like FMVA® teach you to build financial models using methods that leading banks and financial institutions use to train analysts.
  • Immediate Application: Short videos paired with exercises connect course concepts to daily analytical tasks.
  • Downloadable Resources: Templates, cheat sheets, and Excel models support workplace tasks and interview preparation.
  • Employer Recognition: Hiring managers often view a CFI credential as evidence of the technical skills required for analyst roles and a commitment to professional development.
  • For example, CFI’s 3-Statement Modeling course has you build and test a fully linked three-statement model with debt schedules, circularity controls, and a summary. In Applied DCF Valuation Modeling, you construct a linked DCF model, test valuation assumptions through scenario analysis, and present the results in an Excel dashboard.

Wall Street Mojo Practical Learning

Wall Street Mojo uses Excel-based demonstrations, downloadable templates, company case studies, and guided financial modeling exercises. Learners work with public company financial statements and, depending on the course, may build three-statement models, DCF valuations, budgets, forecasts, ratio analyses, dashboards, or AI-assisted finance workflows.

For example, Financial Modeling 101 guides learners through a complete three-statement model, while the LBO Modeling Course includes an Excel model and transaction case studies. Learners produce useful practice files through guided, self-directed work.

CFI Assessments and Exams

A qualified assessment tests the concepts and applications covered in a course after the video lessons, interactive exercises, and case-based practice. Assessments primarily include multiple-choice questions, fill-in-the-blank questions, and case studies. Learners need a score of at least 80% to earn a course completion certificate.

CFI’s certification final exams are cumulative online tests of practical financial skills. Learners need a score of at least 70% to earn their certification. With an active CFI membership, they can retake the exam at no additional cost after a 30-day waiting period. Candidates can also take a practice exam to prepare for the final exam. Many courses include knowledge checks that reinforce concepts throughout the lessons.

Wall Street Mojo Assessments and Exams

Wall Street Mojo primarily assesses learners at the individual-course level. Multi-course bundles generally include chapter quizzes and a separate final assessment for each course. Learners earn an individual completion certificate for every course they pass.

CFI Teaching Approach and Instructors

CFI connects finance theory with workplace application through practitioner-led instruction. Instructors explain concepts step by step and demonstrate how to apply them using Excel, financial models, datasets, templates, and other tools.

CFI courses are taught by finance practitioners and subject-matter experts with 100 years of combined experience. Our instructors include former equity research professionals, investment bankers, commercial lenders, CFOs, financial-market practitioners, and data specialists. Every course page identifies the lead instructor and links to their profile, allowing you to review their background in advance.

Wall Street Mojo Teaching Approach and Instructors

Wall Street Mojo teaches the fundamentals of financial statements, valuation, forecasting, and capital markets, then applies them through Excel models, company case studies, dashboards, and investment scenarios.

CFI’s Courses, Certifications, & Specializations

We organize our training into three connected levels: standalone courses, focused specializations, and comprehensive certifications. Certifications are CFI’s most extensive learning option.

Programs such as FMVA® and FPAP™ develop practical skills for finance functions or career paths. They typically include optional preparation courses, required core courses, electives, case studies, practical exercises, course assessments, and a cumulative final exam. Certifications suit learners seeking structured, role-focused training and a professional designation.

Specializations offer targeted training with a shorter time commitment than a certification. Learners can use them to complement a certification with advanced skills or study a particular topic independently. Each specialization follows a focused sequence of courses. Examples include AI for Finance and Investment Banking and Private Equity Modeling

Learners can also take individual courses to customize their training. This option works well for addressing a skills gap, exploring a new topic, or earning CPE or CPD credits without following a prescribed learning path.

Wall Street Mojo’s Courses, Bundles, and Membership

The Wall Street Mojo catalog is organized into standalone courses, course bundles, and Elite Membership. Standalone courses provide targeted training on one topic, such as Excel data analysis or ratio analysis. Bundles combine related courses into broader learning paths based on a discipline, toolkit, or career objective.

Elite Membership provides three years of access to Wall Street Mojo’s core technical and AI courses. Learners can earn certificates for the courses and bundles they complete, but the membership itself does not award a single comprehensive credential. They can progress from accounting and Excel to modeling, valuation, investment banking, Power BI, Python, or AI without purchasing each course separately.

CFI vs Wall Street Mojo: Pricing

The main difference in pricing between CFI and Wall Street Mojo is that CFI offers annual all-access memberships, while Wall Street Mojo charges flat fees for courses and bundles and offers only one membership option.
