How We Work

Remote-first, with offices around the world

CFI operates as a remote-first company to fully support those who work from home or across time zones. That includes video-optional company meetings and social events, clear and flexible working hours, respect for communication preferences outside of work hours, and trust in team members’ self-management to get work done.

Prefer to work in person? You’re welcome anytime at our Vancouver headquarters or satellite offices in New York and Poland.

In a performance-based culture

From company objectives to individual goals, we’re laser-focused on meaningful performance and the cross-team alignment necessary to achieve it. Expectations are clearly communicated and initiatives decided through open discussion and egoless collaboration.

Regular, constructive conversations and check-ins with managers are encouraged to acknowledge and celebrate high performance and create action plans otherwise. It’s our commitment that no one should have to wait for their quarterly review to know how they’re doing—and should always feel fully supported in achieving set goals.

Meeting-free on Wednesdays

We understand meetings can sometimes interrupt the concentration and “flow” needed to get things done. Which is why we introduced Focus Wednesdays as a company-wide window to dive into work without disruption.

This isn’t a hard and fast rule—you’re free to take ad hoc or spontaneous meetings if you like! Assigning one, shared day per week free of scheduled meetings is our way of reducing meeting fatigue and giving everyone designated time for deep, undisturbed focus.
