Financial Modeling at Western (UWO)

University of Western Ontario (UWO) offers a Master’s of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences with a focus area on the Financial Modeling Field. The program teaches statistical, mathematical, and programmatic areas of financial modeling. According to Western’s website, students learn to research by completing several projects during the program. Given that the program is part of the statistics department, it seems likely the program is more based on the statistical model rather than traditional financial and valuation modeling that is performed in investment banking, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and other areas of corporate finance.
