Andrew Loo received his MBA from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and his BA in Economics from the University of British Columbia in his hometown of Vancouver, BC.
Prior to joining CFI, Andrew Loo worked in financial services for over 20 years in retail, commercial and investment banking roles. He retired from investment banking in 2017 as Managing Director at Nomura Securities in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for managing relationships with the key Central Banks, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and other key investors, as well as spearheading the firm’s sales efforts into the People’s Republic of China as Chairman of the China Operating Committee.
Before joining Nomura, Andrew was Executive Director and Head of Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, and Commodities (FICC) for Hong Kong at UBS AG within their investment bank division.
Throughout his investment bank career, he was also very passionate about teaching and developing talent as well as a keen lifelong learner. Hence, Andrew was naturally very excited about joining CFI with its significant global reach of eager learners. As VP of Capital Markets, Andrew brings his real-world experience in Capital Markets to the CMSA program.
Outside of work
Andrew is most often found driving his kids around, on the golf course, or indulging in his passion for wine, but never all three at the same time.
