What is a Paradigm Shift?
A Paradigm Shift is when a common belief (paradigm) is replaced by (shift) a new, updated belief. A great example is that previously in our history it was widely believed that the Earth was flat; however, with advances in cartography, navigation, and astronomy, it is widely accepted that the Earth is spherical. Paradigm Shifts often arise when there are fundamental changes in viewing the underlying assumptions of something.
