Unsolicited is when something is not asked for and is still given or supplied. An unsolicited service, for example, is a service received that you didn’t ask for. In business, an unsolicited bid, is when a firm makes an offer to acquire a firm, that was not currently seeking a buyer. This is usually seen as an aggressive move, and can be referred to as a hostile bid.
